Real Living Finalist

I'd forgotten that a while back I sent come pics of our kitchen to Real Living for their 'Win A Stylist' competition.    That is until the lovely Jo in Melbourne left me a comment congratulating me, upon which I went for a little dig through the pile of mail that had accumulated during our holiday.  How funny!  There is my little patch of wallpaper on Page 51!

We had such a lovely time away in Byron Bay.   I will be posting some pics of our adventures and a few new purchases soon.

Today I'm loving....

...this yellow patterned wallpaper used in the home of Helen and David from Signature Prints.  Lucy has done an inspiring tour of their home over at The Design Files.

Little Cottage Guest Nook

One of the reasons I am excited about exploring Bangalow is being a long time fan of Shannon Fricke, along with her lovely little blog.   This past year, Shannon has started running colour, decoration and styling courses from her little studio, which has a lovely little guest house attached.  The Little Cottage Guest Nook looks like just the place I'd want to stay on a girly weekend away to Bangalow.   Just need to organise my design girls and book a workshop and a weekend away!

Four more sleeps....

....until we head away to beautiful Byron Bay.  We are so desperate for this holiday!  It's been a tough year and a little break away is just what we need.

One of the things I'm actually most excited about is exploring Bangalow, a beautiful little town in the Byron hinterland.  Such a cute place, filled with amazing little shops, galleries and restaurants.  Let's hope the weather is good for us!

This is one of the restaurants I have on my list.  Yes - I have a list!  And I plan on doing all of it.

LetterboxCo is a new online shop and design house.  Loving their range of vintage typography inspired homewares and stationery.  What to buy first?

Frontliners is a new project by Natalie Walton (Real Living, Daily Imprint)  and photographer Kata Varga.  Real people, real homes......and real kids.   I like it.

This is the mid-century home of stylist Inez Garcia.

I like how there are many original details still showing in this home, ie. the timber drawer fronts and doors.  I wage a constant battle with myself over such details in my own home.  Do I leave them?  Paint them?  Replace them?   My opinion seems to swing wildly in the breeze and differs from day to day.  So it's nice to see that someone has embraced them wholeheartedly.  For today (and possibly today only), I agree.

Spring has FINALLY arrived!  There is no happier person than me this week.  Now we are counting down the days until our holiday to Byron Bay!   When I booked it, I knew that by the time it rolled around, we'd be absolutely desperate for it.  And we are.  This little holiday is well earned. Bring it on.
