Another fab shop to visit in NYC!  I learned of Henri Bendel via Paula Joye at LifeStyled.  Instantly checked out the website and HELLO! Another must-see to add to my list.

I was flittering around the blog-o-verse the other day and saw a post on Hello Naomi on the The Red Thread.  I can't believe how simple and beautiful all these cakes and other goodies are!  So so ridiculously pretty.  If only we lived in Newcastle!

Based on George Nelson’s timeless 1952 design, the Slimline Lounge system comprises 3 standard pieces – sofa, armchair and ottoman.  Available with timber legs, fixed or loose cushion seat, latex or foam cushion seat, with a multitude of variations that can be made to order to suit any living space.

Other customizations include colour matching timber legs, “gallery” bench, “L-shaped” corner suites and attached side tables.

Velvety goodness

I clearly have a thing for cosy looking beds at the moment.  Probably because the mercury is hovering somewhere between -5 and 10 degrees each day at the moment. Boooo! Over winter already.

This is a new release of velvet bedding by Castle & Things.  Can only imagine how cosy it is!

It's a velvet explosion!  Our new quilt covers (yes you put your big puffy doona inside) are heaven.  They are the warmest, softest, snuggliest, closest thing to a hug.  In yellow or split panel yellow/blue and yellow/watermelon they go back with all the cotton sheets and are completely machine and tumble dry friendly.   Just try getting out of bed, it won't be easy!

ps. the new paintings are part of a show at Koskela in Sydney from mid-July onwards.

Check out the new range of Deco inspired rugs by Catherine Martin for Designer Rugs.  They are so awfully grown up!  I don't feel grown up enough to own one of these.....but I do think they are beautiful, particularly used in unison with her amazing range of wallpapers.

Another shop I've heard so many wonderous things about is ABC Carpet & Home.  Six floors that you can get lost in for hours so I have heard.  Can't wait!

That little blue box

A good friend turned 40 this week.  When thinking about what to get, I thought - is there anything more exciting than receiving that iconic little blue box, tied with a white ribbon?  It really is hard to beat for such a special occasion.

S&B at home

The girls from Sass & Bide fascinate me.  Heidi Middleton & Sarah-Jane Clarke are two of the most original, edgy and stylish women I can think of.....and how awesome is it that they are Australian?  I am always intrigued by what they wear and their designs for S&B.  Anyone who knows me is very aware of my obsession with their clothes, I definitely own more of their stuff than any other label.

So it was with delicious delight that I came across this blog entry by American stylist Natalie Joos.  A little peek into Heidi's world, and her home in Palm Beach, a very northern suburb of Sydney.  I just feel so ordinary after looking through these pics.  Heidi is so confident of who she is and is unashamed in her style, she just puts it out there.  I love that.  So inspiring.
