Amazing Architecture

How amazing is this Frank Gehry designed building, due for completion later this year?  It's the Dr Chau Chak Wing Building at UTS in Sydney.   Keen to see this one in real life.

Hello...? Hello!

Cannot believe it's been over an ENTIRE YEAR since my last post!  Outrageous!  It's certainly been a very busy year, settling into our new home and new way of life.   Moving to Singapore has been one of the best things we've done, and now - with some time and a lot more experience under my belt, it's time to pick up with some of the old things again.  Hence, back to posting!

It is actually nine years ago today that my husband Des and I said 'I do' at the gorgeous Sebel Kirkton Park in the Hunter Valley.  For part of our honeymoon, we flew to Melbourne and hired a BMW Z4,  taking a leisurely cruise down the Great Ocean Road for about seven days, staying at many amazing places along the way.  My favourite spot by far was Port Fairy, where we stayed at Oscars Waterfront Hotel.  It was absolute heaven, and I'm hoping to return one day just to soak it all up for a bit longer than the two nights we did last time.   This time I'd like to split my time between Oscars and a new discovery I came across last week, Drift House.  Tell me this is not a little piece of heaven?

Kangaroo wallets

You can hear the crickets around here.   A major lack of posting due to our move to Singapore!  I've seen many amazing things and am gathering a lot of inspiration, I just haven't had time to put together any posts.   These beautiful handmade Kangaroo leather wallets by Georgie Cummings caught my eye on The Design Files this morning though.  So elegant and different from anything else on the market that I've seen.  Want!

Share, Dulux Colour Forecasting

Love this image from the Dulux Colour Forecast.  I am completely crazy about grey!  This is 'SHARE', one of the colour stories - to read more about it and see the other selections, click here.

With a new generation embracing digital technology, Share invokes the idea of a world drawn together, with people sharing and soaking up information daily via social media, stimulated and inspired constantly by technology.
Share provides a break from this stimulation with a monochromatic palette allowing digital pattern, positive and negative space, tonal shadows and texture to create the mood. Colours are inspired by natural stone and metals transformed with technology.

PS - HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Sorry it's been so quiet around here, it's only a week now until we move to Singapore.  I am so excited for 2013 and all the wonderful adventures it holds.  I hope it brings you everything you desire too.   Barb. x

Lil Red Dot Folks

Brilliant Singapore street fashion blog!  Lil Red Dot Folks: stylish folks on their own turf.  Love not only seeing their personal style, but reading about where they like to hang out etc.  Great for a newbie moving to Singapore!

Grafunkt - Singapore

Things have been a little quiet around here lately.  Well, seemingly quiet, there hasn't been a whole lot of blog posting going on.  In the background, however, things have been a little frantic.  The reason being...........we are moving to Singapore!  In January our new adventure begins.   I am beyond excited - a new country to explore, summer weather all year round, new friends to meet and a new culture to become immersed in.  And don't forget, a new apartment to decorate!

I've been keeping my eye out for anything fabulous design-wise to visit when the time comes.  Grafunkt is one such place I'll be making a bee-line for.

Udder

I ordered the most gorgeous pieces for Isobel from Udder this week.  They arrived on Friday and are just as beautiful as person as they look online.  So simple and I love the different colours for girls.  No pink!  Hooray!
