Share, Dulux Colour Forecasting

Love this image from the Dulux Colour Forecast.  I am completely crazy about grey!  This is 'SHARE', one of the colour stories - to read more about it and see the other selections, click here.

With a new generation embracing digital technology, Share invokes the idea of a world drawn together, with people sharing and soaking up information daily via social media, stimulated and inspired constantly by technology.
Share provides a break from this stimulation with a monochromatic palette allowing digital pattern, positive and negative space, tonal shadows and texture to create the mood. Colours are inspired by natural stone and metals transformed with technology.

PS - HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Sorry it's been so quiet around here, it's only a week now until we move to Singapore.  I am so excited for 2013 and all the wonderful adventures it holds.  I hope it brings you everything you desire too.   Barb. x

Finnon Glen

More Doherty Lynch magic.  A friend is doing a kitchen re-model and is using the kitchen in this house at Finnon Glen as inspiration.  Can't wait to see how it turns out!

A '60's gem in Sweden

It feels like winter has hit overnight here in Canberra.  Returning from an Easter break to Nelson Bay where we sat in the sun and frolicked on the beach, to one degree here overnight.  So not ready for it!  This morning, I was very happy to stumble across this little piece of modernist heaven, I would die to be cocooned in all that luscious warm timber today!

Located in Partille, just outside Gothenburg, Sweden, this beautiful home was built in 1961, designed and owned by architect Bo Cederlöf for almost 5 decades.

Discovered here.

Small stuff

Just goes to show a small space doesn't have to be dark and pokey.  Cosy yet light and relaxing at the same time!

Follow Studio at home

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  I have NO IDEA how people can be this disciplined when it comes to following a strict aesthetic in either the business they run or the homes they live in.  OK - so if it's your business, I understand that you can have a brand look and feel that you adhere to; that is one thing.  But to embrace it in a business capacity and then also practice the same sort of discipline at home?  Wow.  It's something I'm not sure I could ever do!  My tastes jump all over the place, one minute I want an all-white house, the next I'm colour blocking my lounge room.

Jessie James of Follow Studio exists in a world entirely without colour.  Which is absolutely stunning!   I, however, think I may go a little insane at some point.....
