The Mod Collective

I'm a little bit in love with The Mod Collective.  Don't you just want every single piece of porcelain? And I'd kill for one (or two!) of those lights!

Sorry it's been a little quiet around here the past few weeks.  Big things are happening!  Hope to be sharing soon.

Orla Kiely + Method

I am officially obsessed with Orla Kiely. I also love Method.  So you can only imagine my excitement when I came across this collaboration today!  Followed by massive disappointment of course, because these lovely items aren't available to us in lonely little Australia :(

Method and Orla Kiely Launch Limited Edition Collection of Hand Wash and Cleaning Products

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Today, Method, the leading innovator in premium, eco-chic household and personal care products, launches its first collaboration with designer Orla Kiely. Four signature prints from the Irish-born designer will now be available as a limited edition collection of Method hand washes and home cleaners in exclusive fall fragrances.
“We love Method’s fun and eco-friendly approach in designing their cleaning products so it’s been wonderful to bring our bright, colorful prints onto the bottles to complement these lovely new fragrances”
Orla’s graphic prints adorn her ready-to-wear clothing collections, house wares, furnishings, perfume and accessories. Method designers worked with Orla to select four bright and fun prints that would complement Method’s iconic bottle designs and inspire four unique fragrances – pear ginger, vanilla chai, bay leaf and primrose.
“Working with Orla and her team was a natural fit given the mutual love of color, patterns and design shared by both our brands,” said Sally Clarke, creative director of Method.
Method used Orla’s patterns as the starting point for the fragrance development with this collection. The coral-colored floral print inspired a primrose fragrance – an updated twist on a classic rose – while an herbaceous, rich bay leaf brings the iconic green stem print to life. The pear pattern inspired a fresh fragrance with a hint of ginger to create a bright, clean aroma that carries across hand wash to cleaning spray and dish soap.
“We love Method’s fun and eco-friendly approach in designing their cleaning products so it’s been wonderful to bring our bright, colorful prints onto the bottles to complement these lovely new fragrances,” said Orla Kiely.
Available this fall at Target stores nationwide and on methodhome.com, the Method + Orla Kiely designer collaboration includes gel and foaming hand wash, dish soap and all-purpose cleaning spray ($2.99 - $3.99). The biodegradable and naturally derived formulas are free of any dirty ingredients, like parabens, phthalates, triclosan and EDTA. And packaged in recyclable bottles made with 100% recycled plastic (PCR).

Velvety goodness

I clearly have a thing for cosy looking beds at the moment.  Probably because the mercury is hovering somewhere between -5 and 10 degrees each day at the moment. Boooo! Over winter already.

This is a new release of velvet bedding by Castle & Things.  Can only imagine how cosy it is!

It's a velvet explosion!  Our new quilt covers (yes you put your big puffy doona inside) are heaven.  They are the warmest, softest, snuggliest, closest thing to a hug.  In yellow or split panel yellow/blue and yellow/watermelon they go back with all the cotton sheets and are completely machine and tumble dry friendly.   Just try getting out of bed, it won't be easy!
ps. the new paintings are part of a show at Koskela in Sydney from mid-July onwards.

Deco by Catherine Martin

Check out the new range of Deco inspired rugs by Catherine Martin for Designer Rugs.  They are so awfully grown up!  I don't feel grown up enough to own one of these.....but I do think they are beautiful, particularly used in unison with her amazing range of wallpapers.

Leading Australian manufacturer, Designer Rugs, is proud to announce the launch of the ‘Catherine Martin Deco Collection’, an exquisite range of hand knotted rugs.

The ‘Catherine Martin Deco Collection’ is the second range created in collaboration with this Academy Award winning designer and multi-skilled visionary who, on this occasion, has crafted a superb series of five designs, each of which pays homage to the romance of the unique period that is ‘Art Deco’, while remaining imbued with a fantastical quality of their own that is undeniably the signature of Catherine Martin herself.

The Catherine Martin Deco Collection features four designs at a (standard) size of 2.4 x 3M and a fifth design at 2.4 x 2.4M. All designs can be custom sized and custom coloured to suit.

Hand knotted from Tibetan wool and silk, the colour palette  - which includes exquisite combinations such as steel blue, amethyst and champagne, alongside dark chocolate, topaz and tobacco - are as subtle as they are sumptuous…evoking both a magical nostalgia and sophisticated modernism in equal measure.

Orla Kiely, NYC

I am heading to New York in August (I know!), and I'm getting together a list of all the fab places I want to visit.  I've been once before and have seen most of the main tourist attractions, and so this trip (with just one girlfriend), I will have all my days free to explore (read: shop!) while she is doing a course for work.  I am thinking at this point it's best to leave home with the bare essentials and plenty of spare room in my bags!

One of the places I want to visit is Orla Kiely, 5 Mercer Street NYC 10013.

Shannon Fricke

Shannon Fricke is such an inspiration.  I remember watching her all those years ago on the Lifestyle Channel's production called 'Home', thinking how down to earth, approachable and refreshing her style was.

Shannon has been busily working away in her little home town of Bangalow (possibly my favourite little town in the whole country!  Jealous much?) and has just released her first range of bed linen.  Totally divine.  Don't you just want to dive straight in?  Very much Shannon's relaxed and inviting style, and totally affordable.  LOVE!

Shannon has also just published a new book called How to Decorate.  My copy is winging it's way to me as we speak.  Can't wait to curl up with it and get planning our upcoming reno's!

The Mod Collective

I am feeling the love for these gorgeous lights by The Mod Collective.  I originally spotted them at a trade show in Melbourne back in August last year, but had sort of forgotten about them. Now I have them in mind for a project.  Hmm, they are pretty awesome.

Armadillo & Co

I've always loved Armadillo & Co's rugs.  I do plan on having one someday.

Emu Heaven

Really wanting one of these Emu outdoor 'vases' for my front yard or courtyard area.  Or maybe on the yet-to-be-built back deck?  Not cheap, but such a statement.

Hollie & Harrie

Our poor excuse for summer has passed, but I couldn't resist posting these beachy images from clever sunshade makers Hollie & Harrie.  Perfect for these last warm Autumn days before Winter hits.  If only I had time to snavel one up before heading to Nelson Bay for Easter this weekend.  I have my fingers crossed the weather is going to be amazing...  One last hurrah!
