Striped Rug Cushions
I love this idea (via Martha Stewart) of sewing two IKEA Signe rugs together to make extra large cushions. Could be good for additional seating on the new deck? And at $4.99 a pop for the rugs, super cheapo!

Creative juices
I've been sick this week, so took the opportunity to spend some much needed time at home. A chance to get the sewing machine out and great creative.....
This oilcloth apron was super quick and easy as it's all hand sewn. I used Kelly Doust's tutorial from The Crafty Kid. Love it!

Cicada Daydream
I just came across a lovely little blog called Cicada Daydream by Michelle Engel Bencsko. She is one of the co-founders of Cloud 9 Fabrics, who make some very pretty organic fabrics. Michelle has put together some really great (simple!) sewing tutorials that I am definitely going to give a whirl. It's been an eternity since I got out the sewing machine, and I am itching to dig it out of it's hiding place, get it serviced (well overdue), and get busy. Many, many babies on the horizon and many, many gifts to start making.

More poms anyone?
I'm fairly pom-pommed out after some friends and I made about 90 for the Hats & Gloves fundraiser we were on the decorating committee for recently, but I do love these fabric versions I came across recently. A tad more complicated than Martha's tissue paper version - but there's a full tutorial at Once Wed. Maybe one day.....

Making a duvet cover
Great post over at Design Sponge today on how to make a duvet cover. So simple! I will definitely be trying this one out. I find the price of bed linen quite astounding, and most of it is so uninspiring. This is the answer!
