We're off!

....to Norfolk Island for ten days.  Very much looking forward to relaxing in the warmer weather, now that it's decidedly chilly here in the mornings in Canberra.

Beautiful hues by Jason Grant

Uber stylist Jason Grant is taking over Australia!  Not only is he the genius behind so many of the beautiful images that grace the pages of magazines such as Real Living and Inside Out, he is also making over giants like  Officeworks and Freedom.  I love his unique style, usually tending towards muted colours and interesting vintage pieces.   So it's exciting to hear he has collaborated with Murobond to release a limited edition range of colours in the coming months.  I want to me some of those!

Is this blue not perfection?

The release date for these gorgeous new colours is 24 May.  Run people, run.

I managed to catch up on some recorded episodes of Grand Designs today and completely fell in love with Corkellis House by interior designer Kathryn Tyler.  

Her aesthetic, her manner, her enthusiasm and her drive for perfection  - it was such a pleasure to see unfold.  I was actually a little depressed after watching the programme.  My own house has fallen by the wayside with so many other things going on lately.   I wish I could be as single minded and energetic as Kathryn.

An inspiring wedding

I am helping one of my best friends organise her wedding for later this year.  Hence, I have been scouring the net for some inspirational pics to get us started.  It's amazing where you can find that most elusive element at times:  inspiration.  Something that moves you and provides you with what you really need most, a starting point.

I came across these amazing wedding pics at Style Me Pretty.  The inspiration was, of all things, a simple ball of yarn. 

It's one of the most unique and interesting colour schemes for a wedding I've seen.  Not everyone's cup of tea by any means, but I have to say I am a little bit in love.

Tom Dixon. The man can do no wrong. BULB has just been released at Milan Design Week:

BULB is an energy efficient oversized light bulb designed in reaction to the phasing-out of the incandescent bulb and the unattractive aesthetic of most CFL replacements. The quick start T5 bulb is unique to Tom Dixon and the standard thread means that it can be used with almost any light fitting. Bulb can be used individually or as part of one of three new chandelier frames.
